Mental Health Literacy Scale (MHLS)
This Mental Health Literacy Scale (MHLS) is designed to assess an individual’s knowledge, attitudes, and ability to recognize and manage mental health issues. It evaluates understanding of mental health disorders, stigma, help-seeking behaviors, and self-care practices
Instructions
Read each statement carefully and select the option that best represents your level of
agreement or understanding. The scale consists of 25 questions, grouped into five categories: Knowledge,
Recognition, Attitudes, Help-Seeking, and Self-Care.
Each question is rated on a 5-point Likert scale:
o 1 = Strongly Disagree
o 2 = Disagree
o 3 = Neutral
o 4 = Agree
o 5 = Strongly Agree
